Introduction

The course aims at building and enhancing the students English language proficiency so as to equip them with the skills and knowledge of the English Language to communicate effectively and confidently in different situations.
In addition, the course prepares students to acquire the basic English competency level before gaining admission into the main stream courses. Courses are also conducted for those who wish to study English as a second language.

The course is designed into four levels based on the competency level of students. A placement test is conducted to assess the language proficiency to place the student at his or her level of language proficiency.

At the end of this course, students should be able to:

  • Listen and understand spoken English in real life situations
  • Speak effectively in a variety of situations
  • Write effectively

Therefore, the focus of this course is four language shell of Listening, Speaking, Reading & Writing.
